Analysis- Music Magazines

Masthead is clear and bold so that it stands out and proves that the magazine is well know as it is making a bold statement.

The colour red is instantly attracting and is one of the first things noticed on the page. This makes the masthead one of the most noticeable things on the page, this makes sure the reader will remember the name.

The main image of the magazine is of the strokes. Their facial expressions and body language appear serious suggesting that the article about them inside the magazine is something of a serious nature. This may attract and market its chosen audience as they will want to know what this article is about and why the image is so serious. All of the band members are looking directly at the camera which makes the magazine experience more personal for the reader. Each of the band members are casually attired which makes the magazine more relatable and seem as though they are just like ordinary people. It also highlights that whatever has happened to the strokes, it has not affected them.

The audience of this magazine is made somewhat obvious due to this main image as they are young males themselves. The band appear classy and well into fashion which could suggest the target audience of older teens as teenagers are into fashion and begin to realise what looks good as they develop into an older teenager.
