STUDIES: PRELIMINARY PROJECT
PROBLEM
PAGES ANALYSIS- MONDAY 9TH SEPT. 2013
STYLE
FEATURES
·
All 3 of the
problem pages contain feminine colours which suggest that each of the magazines
target towards females. These colours consist of pinks, blues and oranges which
are considered more relatable to a female audience.
·
All of the
images within the problem pages also relate to a female audience due to them
all being rather of females, or someone/something a female can relate to. For
example, a female role such as motherhood or a male which is associated with a
woman.
·
Each of the
problem pages are set into columns which make the article appear more
professional but at the same time, informative. This also makes the problem
page more structured and easier to follow for the chosen audience.
CONVENTIONS
·
Each of the
pages also include celebrity endorsement or news which makes the pages
immediately more appealing for the target audience. It also makes them feel
more comforted as they believe they may be in a similar situation to a
celebrity who they idolise or take interest in.
·
Each of the
problem pages contain rhetorical questions which appear chatty and informal.
These are effective as they make the article seem less worrying and crammed
with information. These questions also make the article more personal to each
reader as it seems like they are having an individual conversation with the
producer of the magazine or a specific expert.
·
The target
audience of these problem pages are aimed towards females. Possibly of an age
range between 30-50. This is obvious due to particular articles included which
seem suitable towards a female between these age ranges. Suited towards a
typical woman between these ages with a job and family as these articles would
take to their interest due to advice given and tips.
